Spellings are merged on case and legal form only — “BHARTI AIRTEL LIMITED” and “Bharti Airtel Limited” are one holder here. Nothing is merged by meaning, so an institution that files under a genuinely different name in different registers appears more than once: “LIC of India” is a separate row from “Life Insurance Corporation of India”, because no rule over the text relates them and guessing would also merge a fund house with its own schemes. Treat a holder’s list as what was filed under that name, not as a complete portfolio.
The kind is read off the name, because the filing does not state one for anyone but a promoter — so the President of India and the Governors are government, an Indian arm of a global house is domestic, and a foreign sovereign fund is FII however much its name says “government”. Corporate bodies are holders with a legal form in the name and no other reading: promoter holding companies, family LLPs, and the foreign parents of Indian subsidiaries, which own their stakes rather than invest in them. What is left over is mostly family and benefit trusts, and the estates and executors filed beside them: a trust is not a body corporate and its trustees are not the holder, so those carry no chip and appear only under All, which is the honest place for a guess that was not made.
Portfolio value is each latest filed stake at today’s price, summed — an estimate, and only right while the stake is unchanged since the filing. Change QoQ compares that with the same holdings one filing earlier, valued at the close on that date, so it moves both with what was bought or sold and with what the price did. It is measured only over companies that have filed twice, and companies below the 1% disclosure floor are in neither figure.
